Amar Nath Ghosh

Amar Nath is from India. He obtained B. Sc. in Physics in 2011 from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata. He also obtained B. Tech. in Optics and Optoelectronics in 2014 from the same university. During the B. Tech., he completed his bachelor thesis entitled ‘Study of single mode-multi mode-single mode (SMS) waveguide Structure’ under the supervision of Prof Rajib Chakrabarty. Later in 2016 he obtained M. Sc. in Photonics from the University of Eastern Finland. There his master thesis was entitled ‘Measurement of spatial coherence of light beams with shadows and digital micromirror device’ under the supervision of Prof Tero Setälä.

In February 2017, he joined the Department of Optics and Photonics in FEMTO-ST Institute to pursue his PhD under the supervisions of Dr. Thibaut Sylvestre and Prof. John Dudley. As a part of ITN SUPUVIR project, his research topic is generation of supercontinuum in the Mid-IR range in soft-glass photonic crystal fibres.
