RECENDT is an internationally recognized research center and non-profit organisation owned by the public and mainly deals with basic and industrial research on non-destructive testing (NDT) methods using optical and ultrasonic measurement systems. The mission at RECENDT is to promote the transfer of technology from basic research to industrial application. Established methods and technologies are optical coherence tomography (OCT), laser ultrasound, photoacoustic imaging, infrared spectroscopy (IR) and Terahertz technology (THz). Based on these technologies, research and development of NDT solutions is conducted in the field of material characterisation and non-destructive device examination. Currently 40 people, including 4 PhD and 3 MSc students, are employed at RECENDT, forming an interdisciplinary team consisting of physicists, chemists, mechatronics and electronics engineers.
